Pinna Joseph has sung as the cantorial soloist with Ruach Hamidbar-Spirit of the Desert for the last 20 years. She also offers workshops,classes & individual sessions in chanting, relaxation and the breath.Recently she received Yoga of the Voice certification from The Vox Mundi Schoolof the Voice & is continuing studies with international singer, teacher& music therapist Silvia Nakkach of The Vox Mundi Project. Pinna has alsostudied voice with valley jazz coach & pianist Charles Lewis, with singer Susan Osborn who teaches full expression of the voice & performed with thePaul Winter Consort, & with valley voice teacher Catherine Dockendorff. Shehas traveled to Brazil & Hawaii to learn chants of those cultures whilestudying Tibetan, Hindu & Sanskrit chanting. In her classes, Pinna teaches Hebrew and English chants in addition to these.
Dr. Mark Broder earned his Master's in Music Composition from the Juilliard School and Doctorate in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. He has a Master's in School Counseling and was a high school teacher for many years. Now he teaches online classes in music and psychology for Rio Salado College and Grand Canyon University. In addition to playing for Ruach for thepast several years, Mark is the pianist and Music Director at the Creative Living Fellowship, a Religious Science church and teaching center in Phoenix, where he also teaches courses in metaphysics and spirituality.
